Sun Group and Philips Lighting Vietnam sign Cooperation Agreement on the supply of lighting equipment for Nhat Tan Bridge

-  The aesthetic LED lighting system on Nhat Tan Bridge is scheduled to complete and put into use on the occasion of 30thApril, 2017

-  Philips ActiveSite solution allows urban management bodies to remotely manage, control  and operate the lighting system

 Hanoi – February 17, 2017, Philips Lighting Vietnam today entered into a cooperation agreement with Sun Group – a leading private corporation in Convalescence tourism, Amusement and entertainment and Luxury real estate - to supply lighting equipment for Nhat Tan Bridge and other projects invested by Sun Group in Hanoi. The lighting equipment will be integrated with the smartest and most innovative lighting technologies. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Her excellency Nienke Trooster, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam and Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

The cooperation agreement will be commenced with the lighting project for Nhat Tan Bridge, the biggest ever lighting project of its kind in Hanoi, which is sponsored by Sun Group and designed, supplied and installed by the world’s renowned brand Philips Lighting. The lighting system, scheduled to complete and put into use on the occasion of 30th April, 2017, is expected to create a stunning lightscape and modern look for the longest cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam currently..

In addition to Philips’ proprietary LED lighting technology – Powercore which allows the realization of freely designing ideas without limitation that can not be done by conventional lighting technologies, the new lighting system also applies latest smart management solutions, including Philips ActiveSite, a cloud-hosted software that enables remotely monitoring, managing and maintaining lighting installations and is specially designed for lightening architectural works.

ActiveSite connects luminaires, controllers, and data to lighting operators in unprecedented new ways, such as: generating real-time alerts about system warning signs and individual component failures; remotely monitoring system performance, controlling lighting programs from anywhere in the world using a single dashboard just the size of a tablet; storing, updating and accessing data and information about system status, power consumption…

Since setting foot in Vietnam in 1992, Philips Lighting has successfully carried out many large-scaled lighting projects for public, commercial and industrial works nationwide. In the field of beautification lighting for bridges alone, the company has demonstrated its capability through outstanding works on Dragon Bridge, Tran Thi Ly Bridge, Hue T-junction Overpass (Da Nang), Bac Hung Hai Bridge (Hung Yen), Phu My Bridge (Ho Chi Minh City), February 3rd Bridge (Kien Giang)… Mr. Eric Benedetti, General Director of Philips Lighting Vietnam says: “Philips will leverage on our pioneering technologies and expertise accumulated through 125 years to develop a lighting system that meets Sun Group’s strict requirements and is commensurate with the scale of the bridge and the status of Hanoi”. 

Spanning 3.7 kilometer long and 33.2 meter wide with 8 traffic lanes over the Red River, Nhat Tan Bridge was inaugurated in early 2015 and since then has become a new symbol of Hanoi with its five pillars symbolizing five entrance gates of the Capital city. The new lighting system will be designed to play dynamic color changing effects to translate the magnificent and modern beauty of the bridge into different shades. Various unique themed lighting shows will also be pre-programmed for playing on special occasions to enhance the urban environment and make the bridge an attractive destination for residents and tourists at night. In addition to smart controlling features, the energy-saving capability and the long lifetime of LED lighting will allow the urban management body of Hanoi to save operation and maintenance costs of the lighting system and head forwards to building smart and sustainable city.

Apart from the lighting project of Nhat Tan Bridge, Sun Group and Philips Lighting Vietnam will be joining hands in other projects to transform Hanoi - the land of a thousand years of civilization.
